experiences and viewpoint as my day unfolds

missed opportunityI can’t remember who asked me the question “did you want term life insurance.” I can clearly remember somebody asked me that. I guess that is the insurance agent I met a few years ago. She clearly explained the insurance premiums and benefits I can get in the future.

But, I never listened to her and did not grab the opportunity when the premium is still lower. Today, I am not sure if I still qualify to get insurance considering I don’t have permanent work. Sigh! That is one of the mistakes I committed in my life. If ever I grab that opportunity, I’ll probably be able to use the insurance benefits today since it happened almost five years ago.

Well, there is no turning back now. I just hope I can get something that I can afford.

Explore with your thumb for the place that brings the most immediate relief. Place the thumb of one hand where the thumb bone of the other hand meets the index finger bone. Rub in small circles for one minute; do as many times as needed on both hands.

Incoming Wisdom Tooth Pain – Chew gum or bite down on a hard pretzel. This will help the tooth break through sooner than it normally would. If the pain is sharp and pulsing, then try applying cold packs to the face. Anytime it’s a dull aching pain, try applying hot packs to the area.

Gum Pain Relief – Put a teaspoon of sea salt (found at health food stores) in a cup of hot water and swish some around in your mouth and spit out. Repeat every hour. If pain persists, see your dentist.

Technique while in Dentist Chair to Reduce Anxiety – Use before and during dental work. Hold the ring and little finger of either hand for three minutes or longer whenever you want to feel calmer.

importance of complete teethActually I never have a nice set of teeth. Some are even uprooted when I was a teenager. I regret that move, but I can’t return the time and my teeth. Good thing I am in a generation where dentist can do magic.

It took me a long time to realize the importance of complete set of teeth. My parents don’t care much of our looks before. I am the one who feels uncomfortable when I reach college. Now I continually visit my dentist for cleaning and restoration.

Of course, with so many teeth that needs rejuvenating and restoration, finishing it in one day won’t be possible. After so all the restoration process, I am also planning of replacing the missing teeth in my molars. That is the only time I can smile to the whole world with confidence.

life insuranceWhen I was a bit younger like in my teenage years, I used to wonder why people need life insurance. It is clear to me that it is just additional expenses my family can’t afford to buy. I used to say I don’t need it because if my time comes, then I have no choice. Plus, we are living our lives and spending our money for the things needed at that time.

Actually the meaning and its purpose are laid out to me when I reached college. Still, I feel the same way. I only change my mind, when I get some work of my own. It happened when one of my colleagues get sick and needs to be operated. After her two months of her ordeal, she went back to work. I worried that she got broke with huge hospital bills. However, to my surprised she said she did not pay anything. Her insurance company takes care of everything.

From that I become eager to get one for my own. I’m always asking for life insurance quote from insurance agents. And, see if I’ll be able to pay for it. It’s been a long time of searching, but until now I still don’t have it. Well, that if solely my fault.

Tips to Increas your Self EsteemOnce you have tried out a few of these ways, consider making them a permanent part of your life. For most people, good self esteem is not just a happy accident, it’s a result of the way they think and the things they do from day to day. So, here you go:

  • Get a life purpose statement – a well thought out life purpose statement is a powerful way to boost your self-esteem. It will define who you truly are, draw out your essence and affirm you. Whenever you read your life purpose statement, you will be reminded about who you are, what you represent and what you intend to accomplish in life.
  • Take personal development courses – investing in the acquisition of knowledge and education will boost your self-esteem many levels higher! This will give you control over your life and you will gain self-confidence that will prepare you to face and deal with anything that comes your way.
  • Take action. Do something for yourself – start doing something for yourself. Take positive risks with your life. Don’t live your life in chains. If you want to start a business, do it! Don’t live other people’s dreams. Live out loud, live your dream, do something that you feel is important to you. Make sure you accomplish it.
  • Socialize – involve yourself actively in matters that interest you. Join clubs, networking organizations, associations or groups of similar interest and participate actively. Being part of a group gives you a sense of belonging, acceptance and appreciation. Knowing that you are part of something important and meaningful, does a lot to boost your self-esteem.
  • Stand up for yourself – don’t allow people to put you down and don’t allow other people’s expectations to thwart what you are capable of becoming. Don’t put up with people or situations that negate all the positive things that you can do. Stand up for your dreams!
  • Volunteer to help the less privileged – volunteering will give you a sense of fulfilment, accomplishment and appreciation. Giving yourself in service to others is one of the noblest things to do. The look of gratitude on the faces of those that you have helped is enough to boost your self esteem
  • Set personal goals and accomplish them – living aimlessly leaves you with a feeling of emptiness and confusion. Goals give you a sense of purpose. They steer your life in a particular direction. They make your life purposeful. Accomplishing personal goals gives your self-esteem a big boost.

Risks for Blindness in TanningIn a daily basis health experts constantly issue warnings on the dangers of tanning beds and how they considerably increase chances of developing skin cancer even if used in moderation and with all precautions taken. Sam Laing, a 23-year-old woman from the UK, has learned the hard way that cancer is not the only enemy that comes with the use of sunbeds, as she’s currently suffering from a condition that could cost her eyesight for not using goggles in the ten years she has been a “tanorexic,” as the Daily Mail informs.

Laing needs surgery now to prevent her from going blind and that too will certainly affect her eyesight. She has developed pterygium, defined in the dictionary as “an abnormal mass of tissue arising from the conjunctiva of the inner corner of the eye that obstructs vision by growing over the cornea.” Surgery will remove the growth, but there is absolutely no certainty that it will not return, or that the intervention itself won’t affect her eyesight. Understandably, Laing is now sorry she never listened to advice and she wants other women to learn from her mistake.

She has learned the name of the condition and knows very well what her odds are. She also knows that the damage done to her eyes could be permanent. She also explain that the most worrying thing is that even if the growths are successfully removed, they could return and I’ve been told I will have to wear dark glasses on sunny days in future. I just hope that what’s happened to me serves as a warning to other sunbed users that they can be really dangerous.
