sad truth of life

sad truth of lifeIt is natural for us to dread talking about dying, but that is a reality of life that we must be prepared. We will all die and there is nothing we can do about it. But, the sad thing in this life is that dying is more expensive than giving birth. It is actually a very expensive event in our life which costs more than $8,000 for a typical funeral. Plus, you can’t just pay funeral homes, cemeteries and other service provider’s the fraction of the funeral cost when somebody dies. They expect to receive full amount.

Anyway, there is actually a way to spare the remaining family members from financial burden. It is through advance funeral planning. Just like insurance, you got to pay in advance for the services. It allows you to lock in today’s funeral prices with a price guaranteed funeral contract.

I recently lost my father (it’s exactly a month ago today). We are fortunate enough that our financial status is such that we were able to afford a decent funeral service and interment. As such, we were able to devote more of ourselves on the mourning, rather than the worrying. I definitely cannot say the same for a lot of people. And for many, the concept of funeral planning is either impractical (they hardly can afford daily expenses as it is) or it is simply unheard-of. You are definitely right in that our planning in life should extend up to our final days, so as not to be a burden for those that we leave behind.
