time I visit the hospital

Honestly, speaking I am a little ignorant when it comes to hospital equipment. What can I do I have never been hospitalized ever since a child. I only have two encounters of the hospital. The first time is when I accompany my parents during my mother’s labor of our fourth sibling. But, I fell asleep the entire duration because it was nighttime.

My second visit is when hubby undergoes operation of his appendicitis. That is the only time I stayed for at least three days where I was able to ask what those equipment is for. Well, I am not ashamed to continually ask because I only extract information from the patient itself. Hubby is a nurse by the way. That is the time I get interested to know more.

Anyway, I only asked what I see in the area we are in. Of course, not all equipment is in that place. That’s why little by little hubby is introducing me to it by showing me photos and explaining what it’s used for. The last item he showed me before he went off to his week long vacation is the Infusion Pumps.

Humor is a terrific stress-reducer and antidote to all manner of upsets. It has been clinically proven to be effective in combating the worst of stress. Experts know that a good laugh relaxes tense muscles, sends more oxygen into your system, quicker and lowers your blood pressure.

So next time you feel yourself start to tense up, tune into your favorite comedy on television. Read a funny book. Call up a good friend and laugh heartily for a few good minutes. It doesn’t even hurt to just force a good laugh now and then. You’ll find your stress melting away with each breath!

Lots of people were attracted to humor while reading the stories of Norman Cousins. This man successfully overcame cancer by watching his favorite comedy shows on television.

These days, you can attend an organized humor meeting and even in places such as India where laughing in a public place is frowned upon.

protecting your investment

Auto insurance is a necessity not because the law requires it; rather it is a necessity to protect the investment. It meets people’s needs in case of accidents or mishaps. It can save huge amount of dollars against lawsuits, car repair and even medical bills. However, even if lots of people know the benefits and importance of having one, many people still wait for an accident to happen before making a move. Well, who would want to think of future bad things to happen when we are accustomed to positive thinking?

The only problem is that most people drive a car like they walk. It has become part of their life that they can’t live without. So, all people who drive a car and those who own a car must have auto insurance. No one will ever know when an accident strikes. It only means, it is better for a person without car insurance to refrain from driving especially those who do not have super big accounts because expenses due from accidents are very high nowadays.

One of the main reasons some people ignore getting car insurance is the cost of the policy. But, this should not be the case as there is cheap auto insurance available in the market. Basically, there are a number of insurance companies offering this product. One have to research and find out, which is the cheapest; which is the most reliable; which has the least premium to be paid and which gives the best facilities. When all these criteria are present then the person can now buy it. Why wait for something to happen before acting, when you can do it now?

not growing any younger

Fine lines are already visible around my eye area. This goes to show that I am not growing any younger. For sure this problem will worsen when I hit 30s. I guess it wouldn’t hurt to start using anti-wrinkle eye creams as early as now. Well, that is the only thing I think I need to do.

Other than that I need to be very cautious not to get too much exposure from the sun. I’m very much aware of how bad the sun is for the skin these days especially between 10:00 am – 3:30 pm. I already saw people who can’t stop tanning, and they have leather like skin. Well, I don’t want to look like that. Thank goodness I am more of an indoor type of person. So, not going out isn’t a problem at all.

If you experience a sharp pain in your heel at the first step in the morning, chances are you have plantar fasciitis. Plantar fasciitis is a tearing of the ligament on the bottom of the foot. The tearing causes inflammation and the inflammation causes pain. Plantar fasciitis is the most common cause of heel pain. Here are some steps you can take to help decrease your heel pain:

  • Decrease your activity level - the more you are on your feet, the more tearing that occurs in the fascia. Tearing in the fascia leads to inflammation and more pain. Stop running or walking and try biking or swimming. Avoid the treadmill and the stairmaster at the gym. Limit the number times you go up and down the stairs at work or home. Avoid hills if possible. Do not lift or carry heavy items including your kids. Use a stroller or have your spouse/significant other carry them. Decrease your activity level for at least two weeks. If you have improved after two weeks, do not jump right back into your old routine. A gradual return to your routine is essential.
  • Try an ice massage - freeze a sports water bottle and place it on the floor. Roll your arch over the water bottle for 20 minutes twice a day. Read more… »

my ironic vacation plan

Aside from the Caribbean, I am also eyeing Costa Rica as a beautiful vacation spot. Well, it’s a bit ironic because I came from a year round tropical country like this country, yet I still want to give it a visit. Well, I just find it a good experience to visit countries around the world wherever that would be; except for those chaotic places of course.

For now I’m currently looking at Tamarindo Real Estate for some apartment rates or even condos and homes available. Who knows if I can afford to invest one property? In case you don’t know, Tamarindo is a small, peaceful beach town on the Pacific side of Costa Rica. And it’s one of the hottest real estate markets in the world right now. Condos and homes are being developed in this once secret paradise. But, the local ensures to keep conservation standards to maintain the natural beauty of the location.
