Since I’m asking a lot of favors from my sister, favors like document authentication, school credential requests and so on, I want to her give thank you gifts. But, I’m still unsure what item to give because she is really picky. This thought lingers in my mind for quite some time already. While surfing the web yesterday, I discovered a nice idea and that is to give her Samsung cell phone accessories.
It is the safest gift idea I can think of because she loves her phone a lot. I’m sure she would love to receive new accessories. Of course, I also need to consider the style and color since I don’t want to see my gift go to the rear corner of her cabinet. My choices are pouches, rubber silicon skin, plastic cases and charms. But, I guess I’ll stick to pouch and charms. Hopefully she will love it. I’ll keep you posted when she likes my selectio.

At 35 my cousin (Heidi) is still single, I mean single since birth. She is too busy and too conservative to go on date. But, time is running fast and she is not getting any younger. Her younger sister already has three kids and is happily married while she is still struggling to find time to meet people.
Actually, her business is taking much of her time; she can’t even find time to go to a salon to fix her hair. That’s her biggest hindrance at this moment. I thought free online dating suited her situation. All she needs to do is set aside some of her conservativeness and start accepting the idea. Online dating is one the ways for her to meet people with the same interest as hers. That’s the only advice I want to tell her.
If you have trouble getting your family to eat vegetables, the problem may be in your cooking method. Vegetables that are cooked to be tender and vibrant with color can look more appetizing – and possibly even taste better – than those that are mushy and pale. Blanching is a method of cooking vegetables quickly in boiling water, and it helps the vegetables to stay crisp and pop with their original color. Blanched vegetables can be eaten right away or frozen for later use.
- Wash your vegetables under cool running water in the sink. Peel any vegetables that need to be peeled, such as carrots. Remove the leaves from vegetables like cauliflower. Bell peppers and other similar vegetables should be cored. Cut the stems off of broccoli and mushrooms. Chop all vegetables into chunks that are slightly larger than bite size.
- Fill a pot that is large enough to hold all of the vegetables that you will be cooking with water. Bring the water to a boil over high heat.
- Place ice cubes and cold water into a large bowl to use as an ice bath for the vegetables. The ice bath is used after the vegetables are cooked in the boiling water to stop the vegetables from cooking any further; since the temperature of the vegetables is raised while they are in the boiling water, they will continue to cook once they are removed from the stove, resulting in mushy and pale vegetables.
- Submerge the vegetables into the boiling water. Cook the vegetables in the boiling water for two to five minutes, depending on the exact type of vegetables you are using. For example, cauliflower, broccoli and whole mushrooms take four minutes to blanch, carrots take three-and-a-half minutes and sliced bell peppers should be blanched for two minutes. Read more… »

After three months from her graduation, sister finally decided to start dropping off her CV to potential employers. She’s well-aware there are lots of roadblocks ahead before she can get a job. But, she’s pretty confident she’s geared up to handle those hindrances and will enjoy success in her job hunting. For now, all she needs is to focus her energy and find as many vacancies possible.
I wanted to give her some help. But, I know she can truly handle herself. The only thing I can give now is some financial aid to buy papers and hp ink cartridges. She will need to make several copies of her credentials and it’s best to do it at home. It’s more cost effective that way than go to a print shop. Oh well, I guess other than that prayers and support can lift up her spirit to go further. I hope she can land a job that will give her professional and personal growth.

Since almost everyone at home knows that I am coming home, they have started telling me the things they want me to bring – as if I’m from abroad. Some wanted to receive doughnut and brownies. Brother wants jersey and uncle want backwood cigar. Good thing backwoods cigars free shipping is available; at least I won’t have to pay for that. Uncle really loves this cigar for a long time and I’m his favorite niece to ask for it.
Anyway, I’m not sure if I am going to purchase all of those requests. I don’t have much and I’m just going home to attend a wedding, that’s it nothing more than that. But, I’m sure they will understand if I don’t have their goodies with me. What’s important is that I can go home and be with them even for a short period of time.
