Perhaps, you really wanted to wake up each morning with shiny, thick, full hair, right? Some mornings your hair gets performance anxiety, and no amount of gel or mousse will get it to do what you want. When that happens, you probably pull it into a ponytail or hide it under a hat, wondering why you can’t tame it. Your styling skills aren’t to blame. Misbehaving strands may be the sign of a hair problem.

Hair goes haywire when its cuticle isn’t lying smoothly. This tends to happen more frequently with curls, but any texture can get frizzy with the slightest weather change. “You may not notice an increase in humidity, but your hair will,” says Chaz Anderson, owner of Dragonfly, a top salon in Atlanta. Moisture in the air works its way into your strands and causes the cuticle to plump up and out instead of lie flat. Frizz also happens—even in the desert—when hair is damaged. “I see a lot of women whose hair has become rough and frizzy because they use heated styling tools frequently,” Chaz added.

Get your hair’s cuticle to lie down and play nice by limiting heat styling and using a weekly mask, such as L’Oréal Paris EverPure Moisture Deep Restorative Masque. “When your hair is hydrated from the mask, it won’t need to pull in moisture from the air and puff up,” Anderson says. If frizz is still a problem once you make these changes, apply a styling product with silicone, which helps to seal the cuticle.

Applying lipstick in proper way not only provides you gorgeous lips but it also helps lipstick stays for long. Lipstick appends the finishing touch to any makeup application. The lipstick tends to smudge and smear very simply because of the creamy consistency. A lip brush provides you the most precision in applying lipstick. So, here are some tips for applying Lipstick:

  • Provide the illusion of a thicker top lip by lining its furthest edges and foregoing liner on the bottom lip.
  • Lipstick will stay on longer if the whole lip is filled in through lip liner before lipstick is applied. If you choose to utilize this technique, be aware that darker lip liner will darken the look of your lipstick. And, if you are going for a light glance use a light lip liner.
  • In no way use a dark liner with radiance lipstick. Defined lips are enormous, but ensure the liner matches the lipstick or gloss. Dark liner and radiance lips are tacky. Read more… »

Wear a hat and good quality sunscreen when outside. Also, careful cleansing is very important. This should be done first thing in the morning and last thing at night to remove pore-clogging dirt. Cleansing too often will strip away essential oils making you susceptible to dry skin or even eczema.

Understand your skin type (normal, dry or oily) and use a cleanser that match. Remember to rinse your face with warm water after using a cleanser, as any residue will continue to work on the skin if not completely removed. Avoid using soaps as it can dry skin and wash away essential oils. It also alters the skin’s natural balance since soaps are generally alkaline, whilst skin is naturally acidic.

Using toners is also a good thing to get great skin. Toners are designed to remove any last traces of cleanser, while also helping to tighten and refine pores and prevent the build-up of dead skin cells.

Moisturizing helps restore the moisture loss caused by the drying effects of sunlight, central heating, wind, cold and pollution. A good daytime moisturizer should contain a sunscreen and will be easily absorbed into the skin. Nighttime moisturizer should be richer, more nourishing cream, as this is when your skin more readily absorbs moisture.

Lip gloss can be easily made at home using commonly available ingredients like Paraffin wax, Coconut oil, Petroleum jelly, Ziploc bag, Candy melts (to color the gloss and make it taste sweet), Oil-based candy flavoring depending on the type of flavor you like, Grater, Wax paper, small container like a recycled old makeup containers or film containers.

Grate some paraffin wax onto wax paper. Then measure 1/4 teaspoon of this grated wax into the plastic bag. Add 1 teaspoon coconut oil, 1 teaspoon petroleum jelly, 1 candy melt and 1/8 teaspoon oil-based candy flavoring.

Seal the bag and carefully put it in a bowl of hot tap water to melt ingredients for about 3-5 minutes. Only tap water is to be used and never use a microwave or stove to heat the water.

Once all the ingredients are melted well, remove the bag from the water. Squish ingredients around in bag to mix thoroughly and cut off a tiny corner of the bag and squeeze gloss into the clean container. Let it set for an hour, or store it in the refrigerator for 15 minutes.

Use a cotton swab instead of your finger to apply gloss. Your lip-gloss should last a long time. If it changes color, odor, or texture discard it.

Finding the right solution for acne can be a headache. Almost all products claim they are the best. Well, there are hundreds or not thousands of acne treatment creams available in the market, it only implies searching can be a challenge. Unfortunately, very few acne treatments deliver their promise and consumers are left disappointed.

Sufferers only want to cure acne, but are most of the time fall prey to the vicious acne cream manufacturers that only wants money. That’s why it is important to understand that you are in a vulnerable state. Don’t believe on thing or buy things that you know will not work mainly out of desperation.

It is important to really do research in finding the top acne creams available. Look for the ones that has been tried, tested and proven and have at least an outstanding track record.

All of us wanted to have smooth, soft, unblemished skin. But sometimes it seems like great skin is either something you’re born with or something you’ll never achieve. These days, the medical industry has created skin care treatments that are halfway between plastic surgery and serious cosmetics. You can have your skin sanded, chemically peeled, zapped with lasers, frozen or injected with Botox, the catchy hyphenated name for botulism toxin. You can spend thousands of dollars in a pretty short period of time to achieve results that may or may not be what you hoped for.

But one of the most wonderful skin care treatments is easily available to everyone, has side benefits that affects not just your rosy glow but your whole body, and is utterly painless to use. It’s called water, and you drink it.

Not coffee, I know coffee has water. It also has an abundance of interesting chemicals including caffeine, which raises your heartbeat, exaggerates stress on the body and causes diuresis, or loss of hydration. All these things combine to make for ravaged, hag-like skin, which if that’s what you’re aiming for, is just fine. But those of us who want to hold off hagdom as long as possible have to face the facts: that cappuccino may taste good, but it’s going to increase under eye circles, make your kidneys work harder than they should, and can result in breakouts, flushing and blotchy skin.

The facts are these. Not Pepsi, not beer, not juice, not even tea can replace the magical, rejuvenating effects of that old classic, WATER (H2O).
