Setting up a Good Business Appointment

Setting up a Good Business AppointmentOne of the crucial and important key to a successful business is setting up appointments. Basically, when making appointments try to make your call between one and two minutes maximum. Practice keeping your calls to this time scale, any longer and you could be drawn into a full scale presentation. It is like trying to describe a musical you have seen but without the music. Remember to create urgency in your call. Tell your contact that you do not have much time but would really like him or her to hear all about your product.

You can compliment your contact by telling him or her why you have chosen them to hear about your product. Think about this, if someone says something nice about you don’t your ears prick up and listen to what is being said. Leading a conversation with a compliment opens things up for a good reception. But beware of giving forced compliments as people can normally detect them. Before making your calls take a few minutes to think about what information you have on this contact. What special reason is there for sharing this opportunity with them. If the contact is a referral think back to what was said about them and use the positive points as your compliments. the ever competitive business world

the ever competitive business worldWith the ever increasing competition in the business world especially in the retail industry, most stores are switching to the use of computerized point of sale system. Using this system makes the business more efficient, lowering the costs of running the business while improving customer service and making the business more pleasant to work in.

It doesn’t just replace the old, traditional cash register as it offers more than just showing the cash flow of the day. POS systems instantly show the exact money left in the drawer, the profit you made for the day, the number of products sold, how many have left on the shelf, and even the number of stocks in the inventory.

With that the owners can easily managed their inventory with the help of detailed inventory reports produced by the POS system. Also, it helps them build historical data that can assist in predicting future inventory needs.

And the biggest benefit of having a POS system in the store is the fast transaction. Customers appreciate a quicker, more accurate checkout experience they will get from the right retail point of sale system. With that comes along happy customers that could spell out business success.

career that I enjoy most

career that I enjoy mostWhen I was younger, changing careers is not an option. After graduating from college, I stuck myself almost four years in one company. Most of my classmates change their careers for three or four times during that period, while I remain.

As time goes by, I get bored. I feel I have more to give than the current work I am doing. However, I get so attached with my colleagues and going out seems impossible. But, the pressure builds up and I get tired. From that moment I feel I made a very bad decision of not going out when I have a chance.

Thankfully, I was able to exit gracefully even though most of my big boss tried to stop me and offered higher pay. For now, I think I have one of the most difficult jobs in the world, a 24 hour job of being a housewife. I may not get the pay I used to get, I am enjoying every moment of it. I don’t know if I will return in the corporate world, probably in the future.

Helpful tips on selecting perfect uniformOne of the most important parts of an organization is the team uniforms. As the saying goes you only have one chance to make a first impression. Considering the uniforms for your team, workplace or company works be sure to consider a wide variety of clothing options. Depending on who is using those uniforms can be as simple as t-shirts, polos, aprons and even hoodies. Arriving at the perfect uniform isn’t an exact science, but with these helpful tips you will be at a big advantage.

  • Functional Purpose – adding value to your team’s uniform is an easy task. Sports uniforms have room for last names and numbers on them to help keep track of who scored what goals during the game. You can make your uniform much more useful for your team if you add a pocket; this allows people to keep Kleenex or some other little items.
  • Make Highly Visible Uniform – wrong color scheme can make even the most functional uniform fail. For example, nursing uniforms come in many different colors to be very attractive for children. Color is by far the most important aspect of a good uniform. However you want to make sure that the color scheme you choose is not too crazy. Remember it’s better to air on the side of conservatism when you are selecting uniforms because you will be sure to please a larger number of people with your uniform selection. oil rises on strong US growth

oil rises on strong US growthAccording to the news this morning, price of oil has risen sharply after figures showed the US economy had returned to growth, its first expansion for more than a year. The price of US light crude rose back above $80 a barrel, to $80.08, up $2.62, or 3.4%. The price of London Brent also climbed, to $78.24.

US economy grew at an annual pace of 3.5% between July and September, indicating the recession has ended. This boosted hopes that demand for oil would now begin to increase. The return to growth of the world’s largest economy also sent shares on Wall Street sharply higher. The main Dow Jones Index climbed 193 points, or 2%, to 9,955.78.

Andy Lebow at MF Global said that the price of oil futures are up sharply on the GDP data, on optimism that economic conditions will improve and raise demand for petroleum products. Oil prices have more than doubled since the start of the year, but are still well below the high of $147 reached in July 2008.

But there are concerns that sentiment, rather than fundamentals, is driving the oil price, and that once these fundamentals re-establish themselves, the price may fall. These include spare capacity, stock piles of oil and continued weak demand among industrialised nations.

Respectful Assertiveness

respectful-assertivenessYou need not be angry to assert yourself. Here’s how:

Use simple language. Say what you mean and mean what you say.
Empathize with the other person by saying what you think they feel, and then say that you also need to be heard.
Do not attack the other person. Just say how you feel and what you want from the other person.
If the other person is not listening, set a limit and a consequence when the limit is crossed.
