While I was dropping some EC yesterday, I found an article about a camera bag with a woman touch. I love it a lot as there are lots of compartments and lots of padding to protect SLR cameras from other items inside the bag. From that I got so excited and can’t wait to order as it is not too pricey.

But, hubby pulls me back to reality. He said we should buy the SLR specifically the 50D Canon camera first before the bag. That the best thing to do. Well, he is absolutely right. We should buy that camera we’ve been eyeing for a long time before any other things. I just got so overwhelm by the bag that I forget we don’t have a camera yet. Silly me!

In the years I spent on blogging, I have learned so many things including some of my rights, which I won’t have the opportunity to know. One of those learning includes social security disability benefits. I never thought that I am entitled to this benefit granting that I get disable in the future. But, I will not pray that it will happen because I will still be very happy to work instead of waiting for money from other people.

However, we can’t predict the future. That is why I am still fortunate to know Allsup. Allsup is a leading nationwide provider of financial and healthcare related services to people with disabilities. They made a 98% success rate for those who complete the SSDI process with them. Other than that they make the process faster and would only collect fees if they obtain Social Security disability benefits for their clients.

Well, I am really happy about this information. It might come in handy in the future.

Mathematical Models used to explain sleep

We all know that all people need to sleep. But, what happens during sleep, and why we need to sleep at all. Some people would say to get some rest.” But, this doesn’t hold when looking at the issue from a biological point of view. True enough, over the years, scientists have determined that sleeping helps clear our mind, get rid of useless data, and consolidate important moments and experiences, but some of the most difficult questions related to the subject still remain unanswered. Now, researchers at the Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) take a new approach to answering them, ScienceDaily reports.

Rather than conducting sleep studies, direct observations on sleeping test subjects, or brain scans, they are attempting to create a mathematical model that would be able to provide other investigators with accurate predictions of how changing certain external factors would influence sleep quality. Environmental, medical, or physical changes around an individual will affect his or her sleep, many experts already know.

The computer simulation is being developed by RPI mathematics professor Mark Holmes, who is working together with Lisa Rogers, one of his graduate students. They also plan to include data that would give investigators more indications of how the dynamics of the sleep-wake cycle function, and what the effects of disturbances in this cycle may be. They wanted to create a very interdisciplinary tool to understand the sleep-wake cycle. They based the model on the best and most recent biological findings developed by neurobiologists on the various phases of the cycle and built our mathematical equations from that foundation. This has created a model that is both mathematically and biologically accurate and useful to a variety of scientists.

While doing some stuff in the web, I found this article very catchy. So, I will share it to all of you. According to the new scientific investigation, people who watch others engage in positive behaviors, altruistic gestures, and other types of compassion and good will, are also more likely to engage in similar gestures as well. It was also determined that after people notice others doing good deeds, they are very likely to dedicate more time to doing the same thing than they would otherwise, LiveScience reports.

The investigators admitted, however, that the research may not hold value when applied to the masses, as it was conducted on a small sample of women. In the experiments, 30 students were asked to watch an uplifting Oprah video clip, whereas 30 others were played a nature documentary. This was done so that neutral feelings were elicited in the second group.

The test participants were told that they were attending a memory investigation. They were asked to write down as much as they remembered about the video clips they had watched, and where paid for their participation. Then, they were invited to participate in a follow-up, unpaid study. About 69 percent of the students in the group that watched Oprah agreed to do so, whereas only 40 percent of those that watched the nature documentaries agreed to do the same. Full details of the study appear in the January 29 issue of the respected scientific journal Psychological Science.

In a second experiment, 35 participants were asked to watch the Oprah clip, the nature videos, or a short sequence of British comedy. At the end, the women were asked to complete a questionnaire, but the researcher that was with them in the room pretended she couldn’t open the file that held the questions. The experts then asked the test subjects if they would help out by completing a related questionnaire, for another study. More women from the group that watched Oprah consented, and, when timed, were proven to spend twice as much time as the women from the other group with the questions – in turn helping the researcher.

just doing anything

Ow time fly so fast, it’s already March. Where did January and February go? I became so busy with my daily activities that time already passed by. Well, I can’t do anything about it for now.

Since it’s Monday I decided to submit my resume and other requirements to the company my future brother-in-law sent me. After almost two years of being a home and online buddy, I finally found the motivation to go back to the corporate world. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get short-listed. If not I’ll try my luck next time.

After which, is the only time I will look at the commercial mailboxes for sale I found in the web. One of my friends is asking about it and it’s my pleasure to help him. The growing company that he is in is looking for commercial mailboxes for their office. But, they can’t decide which one to choose.

Actually I don’t understand why it is so difficult for them to choose. I mean they only have to choose from vertical, horizontal and cluster mailboxes and that’s it. Well, that is their problem. I will help and give suggestions, but it’s up to my friend if he wants to relay the information I will give.

Finally, I was able to buy a good quality box cutter. It’s not that I can’t afford it. It’s just that I mostly forget to put it in my cart when I go on shopping. It’s one of those things that I always missed. The only time I remember I need it, is when I’m already home and done with my shopping.

Good thing I was able to write it down in my notes before we head out to the mall yesterday. I really need it as I have cutting task this Saturday. I will no longer use any dangerous cutting tool that usually cuts my skin as well.

A new pathological research has announced that herbal medicine can lead to unwanted deaths, especially in people who consume too much of their natural remedies, or who combine such substances with prescription medication. Professor Roger Byard of University of Adelaide forensic pathologist underlines the fact that many herbal chemicals have very toxic compounds inside, which can kill an adult on their own when taken in excessive quantities, or when combined with other chemicals from other drugs.

“There’s a false perception that herbal remedies are safer than manufactured medicines, when in fact many contain potentially lethal concentrations of arsenic, mercury and lead. These substances may cause serious illnesses, exacerbate pre-existing health problems or result in death, particularly if taken in excess or injected rather than ingested,” the expert explains. Ill-effects also occur when normal drugs are consumed at the same time.

Among the most common complications that occur when combining herbal and classical medicine, the group includes cardiac, renal and liver failure, strokes, seizures and muscle failure, to name just a few. “Herbal medicines are frequently mixed with standard drugs, presumably to make them more effective. This can also have devastating results,” Byard adds.

Finally, we already heard the good news we’ve been waiting from my second to the last sibling. We are just happy that he will graduate from high school this year. What a relief, everyone is anxious that he might not be able to make it. Good thing we were able to get Math homework help before his second grading period, which pushed his grades back to passing.

From that we decided to continue College algebra problems online tutor. We noticed he learns faster when he is using the computer in his studies as compared to other study method. Honestly, it is an additional expense for us. But, the positive side outweighs the monthly fees we have to pay. The tutoring package is available any time my brother wants to use it whether day or nighttime. Plus, there is no limit as to the service. He can use it as much as he wants to.

Anyway, my sister is also thinking about getting calculus help next semester. Like our younger brother, she feels she will get better chance to get good grades from this subject. She feared she will face difficulties just as I did in my college days. But, I still have to think about that because having two tutoring at the same time will really hurt my monthly budget.
